School of Law campaign goal is $2,000,000 and we have currently raised $789,083 (39 percent).


Students in the School of Law benefit from the generosity of donors who want to help them succeed. Following are just a few ways you can make a difference. To discuss these and other opportunities to support law students, contact Cindy Walker, director of development, at 618/453-8136.

Increased Scholarships

  • Fund a scholarship to cover one law student’s education for one year. $30,000
  • Endow a scholarship fund, partially supporting one or more law students for a year. Starting at $250,000
  • Support one student through the entire program with a three-year scholarship. $100,000

Expanded Opportunities

  • Support one student for a study abroad opportunity or legal globalization experience. $5,000-$15,000
  • Support one student in a semester in practice, a human rights fellowship or a pro bono experience. $10,000-$15,000
  • Enable a student’s work as a faculty research assistant for one year. $3,500-$5,000
  • Cover one student’s bar review course$5,000
  • Support one moot court or trial advocacy team’s participation in a competition. $10,000-$15,000; endowment starting at $250,000
  • Support the SIU Law journalAny amount or endowment starting at $25,000  
  • Fund one high school student’s participation in the law preparatory program. $1,000

Enhanced Facilities and Resources

  • Update the law library, practice courtrooms, classrooms, the auditorium, and other student learning facilities. Starting at $100,000
  • Support a Strategic Excellence Initiative that advances our students’ legal education by funding innovative programs, student organizations, faculty outreach, technology, moot court, trial advocacy teams and law journals. Any amount or endowment starting at $25,000

Deeper Community Engagement

  • Support law clinics, special externship programs, and pro bono programs that serve regional and state needs in areas such as veteran’s legal assistance, domestic violence, criminal justice, juvenile justice, immigration and entrepreneurship. $50,000-$200,000
